Untold Stories: Hair on Set, explores the lack of knowledge in the British entertainment industry about how to style and care for Afro/curly hair and the emotional impact this has on everyone involved. In this powerful documentary, rising Hollywood star Fola Evans-Akingbola paints an intimate picture of how something as superficial as hair quickly uncovers a whole story about what it means to be different in your place of work.
Speaking for the first time on camera about their hidden struggles, a cast of British stars including, Naomie Harris, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jessica Plummer and Naomi Ackie reveal their hair stories to Fola. Sharing their experiences and the challenges black talent face working in TV and film industry. This documentary shines a powerful spotlight on the unacceptable ignorance surrounding Black and Afro hair in the entertainment world.
